Meet the RTM Directors
-

Jonathan Wood
Background / Professional Experience
After a 30+ year corporate career, most latterly as the Country Manager for Mastercard in Thailand and before that Chief Operating Officer for a Mastercard-owned business in the US, I’ve taken early retirement (hence my ability to serve DDE residents through the RTM initiative) and am building a portfolio career of NED / Advisory assignments. I’ve operated as a Board Director, managed multi-billion dollar businesses, led teams of a thousand people, faced off against central banks and regulators and crucially, I think, have managed the operations of complex businesses, in Asia, in the US, across the Middle East and here in the UK. I am confident my general management experience, my passion for doing good, my sense of integrity and my personal values of treating people with respect and dignity will be an asset to DDE.
Why I Became a Director
Being a resident in apartment buildings around the world has taught me a lot about what good looks like. Candidly, under the current R&R model, we fall a long way short here in DDE. I am convinced RTM can be a powerful moment of positive change. I know I am not alone, and now I have the time and the opportunity to get my sleeves rolled up and make a difference through direct involvement and action, yes, for me and my family in DDE but for our neighbours here around us.
Connection to Discovery Dock East
Married to Angela, father to Ethan and Amber and recently elevated to grandad status to ‘Little T’, I’ve lived in Canary Wharf for around 10 years. I’ve owned our DDE apartment for a little over 3 years. I’ve also lived in DDW, Pan Peninsula and Landmark West. Angela and I came to city living late on when we moved to London from the south coast, and we love apartment living and the Wharf. We love the eclectic community, we love the vibe, the bars and restaurants just outside the door, and we feel blessed to be here amongst our DDE neighbours

Dr Nilesh Parmar
Background / Professional Experience
I’m a dental surgeon, business owner, and entrepreneur with multiple dental practices across Essex and London. I also run a healthcare consultancy advising clinics on strategy, compliance, and growth. Alongside my clinical and business work, I’m involved in several professional boards and creative ventures. I bring extensive experience in management, operations, and leadership — all focused on running organisations effectively and with integrity.
Why I Became a Director
Having lived in Discovery Dock East since it was first built, I’ve seen how much potential our building and community have. I believe the RTM initiative is an opportunity to make things more transparent, efficient, and resident-focused. I want to ensure that decisions about our home are made by people who genuinely care about it — the residents themselves.
Connection to Discovery Dock East
I’ve called Discovery Dock East home since the very beginning. It’s been more than just an address — it’s part of my daily life and community. I’ve seen the area evolve and still believe it’s one of the best places to live in London. I’m committed to helping maintain and enhance that standard for all residents.

Prasanta Roy
Background / Professional Experience
Over 30 years of experience working in the financial services sector, primarily in Wholesale & Investment Banking and Capital Markets. My last placement before retirement was at Wells Fargo Bank NA where I was Chief Administration Officer EMEA, COO of Avalon Capital Partners and a board director of Wells Fargo Asset Management Luxembourg.
Areas of expertise covered Corporate and Internal Governance, Business Management, Strategic & Business Planning, Financial & Management Accounting, Management Information Reporting, Performance Measurement, Program and Project Management, 6 Sigma Process Improvement, Internal Audit, Operational Risk, Internal Controls, Regulatory Risk and Quality Assurance.
Post retirement, I was still a Board Trustee of a 200-year-old international maritime charity (Her Majesty the Queen as Patron) called the Sailors' Society, before stepping down to become its interim Director General/CEO for 12 months to implement a turnaround of its operating performance. The charity's focus was on the mental health and well-being of seafarers. As my father served in the merchant navy, it was an honour and a privilege to serve one of the oldest maritime charities in the UK.
After my term in the Sailors’ Society, I served the Greenwich and Bexley Credit Union as an interim CEO, which is a not-for-profit community bank that provides loans and deposit services to its community members, particularly to those who face financial struggles and difficulties getting access to traditional forms of credit.
My academic qualifications include Bsc Chemistry (Queen Mary University of London), MBA (WBS Warwick University), PGDip (Said Business School University of Oxford) and professional qualifications include Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Why I Became a Director
I passionately believe that for the effective and efficient management of the building, the decision-making must not only be in the interest of its leaseholders but also driven by its leaseholders.
As a director, I hope to apply my professional and commercial experience to the RTM initiative for the benefit of all leaseholders and residents to ensure their interests are properly represented and duly acted upon. These apartments are their homes.
Connection to Discovery Dock East
Having seen how Canary Wharf has rapidly evolved since I was a resident in the Isle of Dogs in the early 90s, I believe the area has become a community of cosmopolitan culture and a highly desirable place to live. In my view, Discovery Dock East occupies one of the best locations in Canary Wharf as it is central to all amenities and transport links.
